Why Great Lakes Power?
  • Better test stands. Every rebuilt unit is run and verified before it leaves.
  • In-house engineering for applications that need more than a parts swap.
  • Sealed torque converters remanufactured in house. Most shops send these out.
  • In-house machine shop and welding to repair components instead of waiting on a hard-to-source part.
  • Deep parts inventory, often the difference between days and months.
  • Genuine OEM parts. No will-fit substitutes.
  • Direct OEM relationships for technical assistance and service bulletins.
  • 12 locations, shop and field service, 24/7.

Repair

A repair addresses a specific known problem. We diagnose the failure, fix that issue, and get you back in service, either in the field with a road service technician or in-shop with our diagnostic and test equipment. Because a repair addresses the reported fault rather than the whole unit, other wear items may still be present, so a repair does not carry the warranty coverage a full rebuild does.

Rebuild

A rebuild returns your own unit to OEM specification. We disassemble it completely, inspect every component, and replace anything excessively worn or damaged with genuine OEM parts. The unit is reassembled, tested on our stands, painted and crated. Rebuilt units carry a warranty. This is the right choice for most equipment, since reman exchange is only available on specific models that are part of a manufacturer program.

Reman

Reman exchange is the fastest path back to production. We stock common high-volume units in a rebuilt, ready-to-install state at Madison and other branches. You buy the rebuilt unit plus a core charge, we ship it, and when you return your old unit in acceptable condition we credit the core charge back. Exchange programs only work when cores come back, so core return terms are part of every exchange order.
